The Future Farmers of America (FFA) at Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) recently volunteered at the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson.
Students of the FFA chapter at SCTC spent time teaching the public how to rope a steer, how to milk a cow, and about the different aspects of the poultry industry. Members also helped with various interactive booths for Farmtastic, an agriculture experiential learning activity, and Ag in the Classroom, a school-based program helping students in grades K-12 acquire broader knowledge about agriculture and how it affects their world, which you can find at the Mississippi State Fair AG Expo.
