SCTC Visits Mississippi Blood Services
Health Informatics students at Simpson County Technical Center recently visited the Mississippi Blood Services in Flowood.
During their visit, students learned the vital importance of providing a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood components in saving lives. They also learned about blood transfusions and how physicians determine whether a patient requires a transfusion, which can be given during a wide range of circumstances, including serious injuries, surgeries, childbirth, anemia, blood disorders and cancer treatments, just to name a few.
The students ended their trip by learning how to develop a career in their medical, lab and business operations.
