SCTC Features New and Exciting Health Informatics Program

Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) is pleased to feature its Health Informatics program — a new, exciting and trending field of informational technology dedicated to the health systems and processes that keep technology at the forefront of advancement in the medical field.

A popular degree program within the health care management system, Health Informatics includes the integration of health care sciences, computer sciences, information science, cognitive science and information technology to assist in the management of health care information. Informatics deals with the resources, devices and methods to utilize acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in health and medicine. Tools include medical terminology, information and communication systems, and computer technology. Health care informatics provides electronic access to medical records for patients, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, insurance companies and health information technicians.
