Simpson County Technical Center is featuring its polymer science program.  The program includes materials sciences, recycling, polymer synthesis, and a section on ceramics and metals for an artistic take on the science. SCTCs program is one of only 10 statewide. You can often find students in the lab working on projects under the supervision of Instructor, Crystal Smith. Polymer Science is a multidisciplinary field that combines chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, and biochemistry. Polymers enable many advanced technologies and everyday items we use, including flat screen TV’s, light weight aircraft panels and engines, medical devices, coatings and paints, and more.
