Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) students enrolled in the Diesel Service Technician program were given an opportunity to tour industry programs while visiting Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Diesel Equipment Technology program coordinator and instructor Steven Esch gave SCTC students a very informative tour during their visit at Co-Lin. SCTC students learned how Co-Lin’s program prepares students to become proficient in service and repair of diesel-powered equipment. They also learned about all the areas of repair and the main types of equipment, which includes agricultural, construction and diesel trucks, that prepares for a career specializing in diesel engines.
In addition to discussing the many careers available in the diesel tech industry, the lucrative salaries and high demand in diesel services inspired and motivated many prospective students to pursue careers in this field of study.
