SCSD Presents Innovative Teacher Award
Simpson County School District recently celebrated six teachers for receiving the inaugural Innovative Teacher Award during its School Board Meeting on Nov. 10.
The Innovative Teacher Award recognizes educators who have demonstrated innovative teachings and who have encouraged students to explore, research and use all tools to uncover something new.
Recipients of the award for the month of October included:
- Casey Harlan, Simpson Central School
- Brooke Jones, Mendenhall Elementary School
- Lauren Veal, Magee Middle School
- Gladys Hicks and Keyuna Floyd-Draughn, Magee Elementary School
- Kristy Thurman, Magee High School (not pictured)
