Simpson County School District (SCSD) is pleased to name Edward Peckinpaugh as the new principal for Simpson Central School. Peckinpaugh was approved by the SCSD Board of Education on June 29 during a special called meeting.

Peckinpaugh comes to SCSD from the Bureau of Indian Education in South Dakota, where he held positions as assistant superintendent and middle school principal. A native of Mississippi, Peckinpaugh served more than 10 years as an educator at schools along and near the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including Biloxi, Gulfport and Kiln. He also has more than 10 years of experience as a professional attorney.

“I am excited about joining the Simpson County School District and more specifically, Simpson Central School,” said Peckinpaugh. “I love the family atmosphere and how welcomed everyone has made me feel. I look forward to helping grow the legacy of academic excellence that is SCS.”

Peckinpaugh holds a Master of Education in administration and supervision from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Bachelor of Science in education from William Carey University, and a Juris Doctorate in civil law from Loyola University.
