The following teachers were recognized for their innovation teaching in the classroom for the previous month during the Simpson County School Board meeting.
Innovative teaching means the teacher is the creator. Innovation is not just “doing” something new; it is “thinking” of new ways to improve a product, a method, or an idea.
By committing to innovation in the classroom, a teacher can adapt their strategies and solutions in a way that makes it easier to maintain student focus and overcome the other obstacles the student may face.
Teachers who frequently assign classwork involving creativity are more likely to observe higher-order cognitive skills, problem solving, critical thinking, and making connections between subjects in their students. And when teachers combine creativity with transformative technology use, they see even better outcomes.
Simpson County School District employees Stephanie Hubbard, ELA Coach, Deia Sanders, Math Instructional Coach, and Amanda Tindell, Instructional Technology Coach all presented teachers with their awards.
