SCS Recognizes High-Performing Students at Best and Brights Awards Program
High-performing students at Simpson Central School (SCS) were recently recognized for outstanding test scores during the school’s annual Best and Brightest Awards program.
Held on Sept. 8, the Best and Brightest Awards program recognizes SCS students who performed well on the 2022-2023 Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP), acknowledging those who scored Performance Level 4 (Proficient) or Performance Level 5 (Advanced) on one or more of their MAAP tests, including English Language Arts, Math and/or Science. SCS presented more than 130 students, from fourth to eighth grade, with certificates, medals and/or trophies for earning proficient or advanced on their state tests.
“I am so proud of the students and teachers that continued the legacy of excellence that is Simpson Central School. Their achievement is a lesson to all, that if you work hard and believe in yourself, the sky’s the limit,” said Edward Peckinpaugh.
The following students were recognized during the Best and Brightest Awards program:
