The Simpson County School Board has officially voted to rescind previous decisions to consolidate Magee and Mendenhall High Schools, effectively ending the consolidation plan.
Board member Thomas Floyd (District 3) confirmed the decision, stating:
“Consolidation is officially over. Now we can get refocused and move on.”
This reversal marks a significant shift in the district’s direction, as the proposed consolidation had been a topic of considerable debate within the community. With this vote, both high schools will remain separate entities, allowing each to continue serving its respective student population independently.

Now the question is what are they gonna do with all that land they bought ?
agreed. i call shennagins on this.
Having some extra land is a lot better than spending $39 million on a building most people did not want.
Which board members voted to rescind consolidation.
Why would a school board buy land when there is 16th section land in the first place?
