The Simpson County School Board met Thursday, January 14, 2016. President Doris Perkins called the meeting to order. The pledge was given and Sammy Welch led in the invocation.
First order of business was to elect officers. The board nominated, voted and approved, Doris Perkins – President, Stacy Herrin – Vice President, and Sammy Welch – Secretary.
Minutes were approved from the previous meeting.
Each department gave their reports and they were approved.
Under the consent agenda
- Request to refund lunch money to Kate Adams and Patricia Allen.
- Request from Simpson Central to accept the 2016 Target Trip Grant in the amount of $700.00

- Mark Hudson requests permission to travel to Cleveland, MS for Delta State Honor Band, January 14-16, 2016.

Deane Fewell gave the finance report which was approved.
Joanna Maddox gave an update on the new Magee Elementary School and requests a special called meeting to approve construction bids.
