School Board Elects New Officers

Simpson County School Board met for their 1st regular scheduled meeting for the new calendar year.

First order of business was to elect new officers.

Stacey Herrin was elected as the new board President. Sammy Welch was elected as Vice President and Dale Shotts was elected as Secretary.

A new face was seen on the board panel with Lilly Hardy.  Ms Hardy was the newly elected member in the previous election replacing Doris Perkins.

District 2 position is still vacant. The board has 60 days to fill position.  The board is in the process of taking all interested parties that reside within District 2. All names interested must be submitted to the district office by January 27, 2017. A special meeting will be held February 3, 2017 to fill the vacancy in District 2.
