John Hooks, attorney for the Simpson County School Board, explained the findings of the Coach Jimbo Nowell trial.
“During the boards deliberations, settlement negotiations were re opened,” stated Hooks. “Mr. Nowell agreed to resign his position effective June 30, 2015,” said Hooks. “Because Mr. Nowell resigned, the board took no action on the superintendent’s decision to terminate Mr. Nowell and agreed to pay Mr. Nowell for his contract period,” explained John Hooks.

“The board; therefore, did not overturn the termination because this action was unnecessary due to the resignation,” stated Hooks.

Attorney Terrell Stubbs represented Coach Jimbo Nowell.
