STATE FAIRGROUNDS, Miss. – Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson invites everyone to attend the 59th annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo and announces the schedule of events taking place tomorrow Monday, February 12, and Tuesday, February 13, 2024. All events take place on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds.

The Dixie National Quarter Horse Show begins tomorrow, February 12, at 8:00 a.m. in the Kirk Fordice Equine Center and runs daily through Sunday, February 18. The Dixie National Quarter Horse Show hosts exhibitors from 22 states across the country and over 400 American quarter horses will participate in this multi-day event which showcases the versatility of the American quarter horse breed. Competitions for the Dixie National Quarter Horse Show include roping, barrels, ranch classes, English classes and traditional western classes. This event is free to the public.

A number of livestock shows will be taking place in the Coliseum the morning of Monday, February 12, and in Barn 14 in the afternoon. Steer wresting and tie-down roping slack will take place in the Coliseum beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The Dixie National Rodeo will convene on Wednesday, February 14, with a performance by Megan Moroney.

Scheduled Activities & Events for Monday, February 12, 2024:

  • 7:30 a.m. – Open Beefmaster Show – Coliseum (Ring 1)
  • 7:30 a.m. – Open Charolais Show – Coliseum (Ring 2)
  • 8:00 a.m. – Open Brahman Show – Barn 14
  • 8:00 a.m. – Dixie National Quarter Horse Show – Equine Center
  • 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Dixie National Steakhouse – Trade Mart
  • 2:00 p.m. – Dixie National Rodeo Slack – Coliseum
  • 3:00 p.m. – Open Braford/F1 Show – Barn 14

Scheduled Activities & Events for Tuesday, February 13, 2024:

  • 8:00 a.m. – Open Santa Gertrudis – Barn 14
  • *30 minutes after Santa Gertrudis show – Open Red Angus – Barn 14
  • 8:00 a.m. – Dixie National Quarter Horse Show – Equine Center
  • 9:00 a.m. – Dixie National Rodeo Slack – Coliseum
  • 9:30 a.m. – Kids Day sponsored by Southern AgCredit – Coliseum
  • 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Dixie National Steakhouse– Trade Mart
  • 1:00 p.m. – Open Wagyu Show – Coliseum

Events of the 59th Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo run through Sunday, February 18, 2024. The Dixie National Rodeo, the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River, takes place Friday, February 9, through Sunday, February 11, and again Wednesday, February 14, through Saturday, February 17, inside the Mississippi Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds.

February 12 & 13, 2024 – 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

February 14-17, 2024 – 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

February 18, 2024 – 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
