On Friday, January 18, the Simpson Cougars traveled to Meridian, Mississippi to play Lamar School. The Varsity girls fought to the end, but lost with a final score of 62-50. The Varsity boys game was sent to overtime when point guard Joe Berry made a clutch lay-up. In overtime, the Cougars would end up facing defeat with a final score of 67-63. The Cougars will be on the road again Tuesday facing the East Rankin Patriots. The Simpson Athletics page released the image seen below showing the standings as District play continues.
