Cameron Lea the 2018 Simpson County Academy STAR student was recognized during the Magee Chamber of Commerce banquet Tuesday evening.
Cameron scored a 28 on his ACT. Cameron is the son of James Lea and Melinda Dykes of Mount Olive. While at Simpson County Academy, he received the honor of Most Intellectual. After Graduation, he plans to attend Copiah Lincoln Community College and then continued his education at Mississippi State University majoring in Chemical Engineering.
Cameron chose Chris Murphy as his STAR Teacher. Mr. Murphy has served in various educational roles over the past 26 years. This is his first year at Simpson Academy where he is currently teaching in the math department and coaching the tennis team. Murphy has been selected as STAR Teacher three times prior to this year. He is married to his wife, Jeannie, and has one son, Dallas and resides in Raleigh.
