Simpson County Academy held its 2020-2021 Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Honor Society induction ceremony on March 8th. 46 new members  in grades 7-12 were inducted at the ceremony which was presided over by Sponsor Mrs. Gina Williams and Headmaster Nick Lee.

The purposes of the Honor Society are  :

  • To promote academic achievement

  • To create an enthusiasm for scholarship

  • To stimulate a desire to render service

  • To encourage the development of character

To be eligible for membership in the MAIS and SCA Honor Society high school members must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or better and junior high members must maintain a 95 or above cumulative grade average. In addition to the academic requirements, students must demonstrate a desire and a commitment to community service.  Character requirements include integrity, positive behavior, ethics, cooperation, reliability in the community and school, and maturity in the classroom.

Simpson County Academy 2020-2021 Honor Society officers include : Caroline White, President; Madelyn Harris, Vice-President; and Keely Davis,Secretary-Treasurer.   Membership in the Honor Society is a significant academic honor as well as a personal achievement.  These students  epitomize the attributes that produce well-rounded, productive, citizens.  By modeling the purposes of the Honor Society, other students and citizens may be encouraged to do the same.
