Ruth Fowler, 79, passed away on August 31, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1943, to the late George and Bonnie Cain Whitehead in Aberdeen, MS.
She enjoyed doing things for her family. Some of those things included cooking for them, decorating cakes and cookies, sewing, and working in her flower beds. She looked forward to her annual summer trip to the Bahamas, spending time with her late husband, Donald, who passed away just weeks before her, and loving on their cocker spaniel, Lola.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Winstead (Kevin) and Jennifer Turner; grandchildren, Brittney Howell, Matthew Winstead, David Winstead, Austin Crotwell, and Mackenzie Crotwell; great-grandchildren, Carson, Greyson, Luke, and Owen and son-in-law, Chris Crotwell.
In addition to her parents, George and Bonnie Whitehead, she was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Donald; son, Donnie Fowler; daughter, Bonnie Crotwell; brothers, Mike Whitehead and James Whitehead; and grandson, Daniel Howell.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Pete Carter and Bro. Matthew Pharis officiating. The interment will follow at 4:00 PM that afternoon at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS.
