Ruth D. Shepherd, 84, of Braxton, Mississippi, passed away Saturday November 23, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, December 8, 1934.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Mendenhall.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton. The Burial will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Carlous Smith will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401

 Mrs. Shepherd was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Braxton.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Edward Shepherd; parents, Joseph and Bettie Dee Delancy; brother-in-law, Henry Wyatt.

Survivors include his daughter, Diana Aycox (James); sons, David Shepherd (Tamra) and Richard Shepherd; grandchildren, Brad Shepherd (Samantha), and Amy Shepherd; great-grandchildren, Styles Shepherd, Haygen Shepherd, Tyne Shepherd; sister, Helen Wyatt; brother, Andy Delancy (Jolyn).
