Ruby Audra Lehman April 22, 1945 ~ October 8, 2016 Ruby Audra Lehman, a.k.a Audrey Saxon; passed away on Saturday October 8, 2016 in Grand Junction, Colorado; the day was sunny and warm. She was born April 22, 1945 to Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Saxon in the small country town of Mt. Olive, Mississippi. Audrey was born to a very large family and loved to be with them all. She grew up in the country with lots of brothers and sisters, and cousins; singing, competing, laughing, loving, playing and growing her wild spirit.
Before the age of 20 she moved to California—no not to be a movie star—to get married. She had 3 children and became the biggest “star” ever. From P.T.A and ballgames, to tea parties and girl scouts she was always involved with her children. She was an awesome wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to be outside and enjoyed everything that came with it. She has swam oceans and rivers, climbed mountains and traveled from state to state. She like to go places!
Life has handed her a lot of misfortune with her health. However, she would walk through the obstacles with her head held high and her heart on her sleeve. She loved to laugh and lighten the load. She was a kind and goodhearted person. She has always been a very well respected lady, loved by everyone. She has always managed her money and life well, and provided everything for her children and has played a huge role in raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would sacrifice anything to be sure her grand and great grand babies were taken care of and felt her love. She would venture into the unknown to see her grandchildren laugh and smile. Her grandchildren call her “Ganna”. She liked to tell stories of her childhood growing up in Mississippi and everyone like to hear her stories.
She is survived by two brothers, five sisters, two sons, one daughter, ten grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will make her final road trip home from Colorado to Mississippi. She loved Jesus and shared scripture regularly and was confident that she would return to be with the lord.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday October 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Magee City Cemetery, where her brother Doug Saxon will be officiating. A reception will follow services at the home of her sister Bonnie. The family wishes to thank everyone who has helped with her final wishes, it meant to world to her. She kept her smart wits and sassy sense of humor until the very end.
