MORTON, MS – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is pleased to announce the grand re-opening of Roosevelt State Park in Morton, Mississippi. Join us September 5, 2025, starting at 8:00 a.m. for a social in the Alfreda Harris Lodge, followed by a special program. At the conclusion, guests will have the opportunity to tour the new cabins and campground.
Roosevelt State Park has 15 newly renovated cabins, 6 two-bedrooms, 8 one-bedroom, and 1 three-bedroom. Three of the cabins are ADA accessible and of the 15 cabins, 9 of them are Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) cabins. Each newly renovated cabin includes:
- All new stainless steel kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee station).
- All new dining area with solid surface countertops.
- All new living room furniture with a flatscreen, satellite TV, and electric fireplace.
- All new bedroom furniture and bathrooms with ceramic tile walk in showers.
- All new outdoor porch with picnic table, firepit, and grill.
- All new screened in back porch with outdoor furniture.
Roosevelt State Park also has 110 newly updated campsites for RV camping. Each RV campsite is full hookup with water, electricity, sewer, picnic table, and grill.
Roosevelt State Park also has other new renovations and amenities such as four newly renovated bathhouses, kayak rentals, EZ dock kayak launch, pickle ball court, tennis courts, newly refinished pool slide, camp store, and new hiking and mountain biking trails.
Guests can enjoy weekend long activities at the park such as fishing, boating, day-use area including playground, nature trail, disc golf, and tennis courts. Entry fee to the park is $2.00 per person and children ages 5 and under are free.
