Raleigh – Ronald Eugene Martin (Ronnie) was born on October 8, 1949, in Raleigh, Mississippi, to Charles (Charlie) and Barbara Martin. He retired from the Mississippi State Hospital as a Maintenance Supervisor in 1992.

Ronnie was a pastor of Our Lord Jesus Christ Church of God.  He sought the Lord daily, led his family well, and shared God’s truths. He had a passion for deer hunting and loved visiting with his family and friends.  He was affectionately known as “Paw Paw” and was married to his loving wife of 52 years, Jerrie Lynn (Sellers) Martin from Mize, MS.  They resided in Raleigh, MS at his time of death and had four children, Tammy Martin Miller (Camron) of Raleigh, MS, Scottie Martin (Kim) of Brandon, MS, Cortney Martin Anderson (Justin) of Bay Springs, MS; five grandchildren, Shelby Miller Rast (Jeremy), Madison and Blake Martin, Bryson and Kinley Anderson, and one great-grandchild, Tristan Rast, and he was preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda Lynn Martin, his parents, and his brother, Dewayne Martin.  Many would say, “Ronnie Martin is one of the best men I have ever met.”

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee in Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee in Magee. The Burial will follow in Merchant Cemetery. Bro. Mike Anderson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.
