Rock the Block & Stuff the Bus: A Big Weekend in Magee

Downtown Magee is gearing up for a weekend of fun, community, and back-to-school spirit with the much-anticipated Rock the Block & Stuff the Bus celebration.

On Saturday, August 23rd, Main Street will come alive as families, friends, and neighbors gather for an evening packed with entertainment and excitement. The event kicks off with a blast from the past as the community enjoys “Ride the Block,” an old favorite where Jeeps will parade through from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Contest voting for the Jeeps will begin around 5:30 in the parking lot near the railroad tracks across from First Baptist Church.

As the sun sets, the atmosphere will only get brighter. A DJ will keep the crowd energized with music all night, while kids can explore the Kid Zone designed especially for them. Food trucks will line the street, serving up local favorites for everyone to enjoy. Another highlight of the evening is the chance to meet the Magee Trojans, who will be on hand to celebrate with the community.

But the evening isn’t just about fun—it’s about giving back. The Stuff the Bus campaign begins at 6:00 p.m., and the Main Street Association is encouraging everyone to bring school supplies to help fill the bus. Every donation supports local students and ensures they start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

With laughter, music, food, and the spirit of giving, this Saturday promises to be one of the most memorable nights of the summer. As the organizers put it, “Everyone is invited—come out and celebrate!”

Downtown activities begin at 6 and end at 9.
