On the morning of October 13, 2022 loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Robert Murry Keith, 84, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Murry was born in Indianola, Mississippi on June 23, 1938 to Joe and Nona Keith.  He married Alice Jean Cockrell on December 22, 1956 in Magee, Mississippi.  After living in Jackson, Mississippi and Houston, Texas, Murry and Jean moved back to Magee in 1970 to start a family business, which served their community for over 40 years.  They were blessed with four children: Robert Michael, Pamela Jean, Richard Steven and Stephanie Lynn, all of Magee.

Murry was a member of Church Alive in Magee, Mississippi where he and his wife, Jean, served as leaders of the senior ministry, Crown Jewels, for 15 years.  Throughout his life he showed a strong dedication to his church by serving in many leadership roles.  He served on the Church of God State Layman’s Board, Magee Church of God Pastor’s Council, as Magee Church of God Sunday School Superintendent, and was involved in various prison ministries.  Murry was committed to the City of Magee and Simpson County and demonstrated that through his service as a Magee Volunteer Fireman, City of Magee Alderman, President of the Magee Chamber of Commerce and as a Simpson County Election Commissioner.

Murry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean; son, Mike Keith (Cynthia); daughter, Pam Dollar (Donald); son, Rickey Keith (Pam); daughter, Stephanie Keith; grandchildren Watson Dollar, Patrick Tatum (Nikki), Timon Kennedy (Ashton), Aaron Keith and Elizabeth Keith; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Pressgrove (Arnold); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Lee Henderson, Billy Henderson and Jimmy Keith.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at AccentCare Hospice.

Visitation is Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.  The funeral will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Church Alive in Magee.  Arrangements are entrusted to Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to The Gideon’s International at P.O. Box 1001, Magee, MS 39111 or the Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities at the following link: www.msccd.org
