Robert Michael Stokes, 67, of Braxton, MS passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at his residence in Braxton, MS. He was born Tuesday, May 28, 1957, in  Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 05, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall.  Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Braxton, MS. Bro. Timothy Carlisle will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401
Mr. Stokes was a retired army veteran with a background in military police. He also enjoyed gardening and listening to music.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Revis Stokes; father-in-law, William Douglas  Dubose.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Dubose Stokes of Braxton, MS; son, Robert Stokes  (Lacey) of Brandon, MS;  mother, Melba Warren Stokes of TX;  grandchild, Lilly Hatfield of Brandon;  brothers, Jeff Stokes (Donna) of TX and David  Stokes  (Pamela) of TX; mother-in-law, Lou Gail  Phillips (Bub); and a host of nieces and nephews.
