Jerry spent the latter half of his career at Southern Pine EPA, holding the position of Dispatcher at his retirement. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard for 27 years, retiring shortly after serving in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Jerry loved to laugh and smile. He loved to talk to everyone and never met a stranger. Jerry loved to fish and took every opportunity to go. He enjoyed spending time with his family and found great joy working with his children, grandchildren and their friends as they participated in youth livestock competitions.
Jerry was a kind, gentle soul. He never raised his voice and always stood for right. He loved his friends, his family, and above all else, his wife Edwina.
He touched everyone he met with his smile and a little laugh. He will be missed.

Survivors include his wife, Edwina King; son, Broadcast Engineer Bobby King (Tess); daughter, Dr. Anna Anderson; grandchildren; Kate King, Chloe King, Ty White, and Slate Anderson; brothers, Danny King and Mike King (Tommie); sisters, Jane Sullivan (Steve) and Linda King; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
