Ricky Myrl Brown, 76 of Mount Olive, MS went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at his residence in Mount Olive, MS. He was born Tuesday, September 9, 1947 in Taylorsville, MS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 Eighth Ave SW, Magee, MS. A Graveside service will follow at New Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive, MS. Chaplain Julie Orr will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Brown; mother, Ocie Sellers Brown; brothers, Rafel Brown, James Harold Brown; sisters, Betty Jean McDonald, Judy Carol Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Melinda Kay Brown; fur-baby/son, Sam Brown; daughter, Chastity Hope Brown Quick; grandchildren, Memorie Johnston (Cody), Zayne Johnston and Mary Ashten Quick; great grandchild, Riley Joyce Parkman; brother, Reggie Brown; sisters, Connie Sue Cooley and Ann McCloud; sister-in-law, Kathy Eubanks; special friends, Lo Pollard and Pamela Gentile; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be Sheddrick Johnson, Terry Cook, John Daniel Lott, Adam Holder, Earl Williams, and Zayne Johnston.
