Richard Burch, 63 of Mize, Mississippi passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Myrtles Nursing Center in Columbia, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, January 6, 1960 in Collins, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 10:30am at Zion Hill M.B. Church in Mize, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Mize, Mississippi. Bro. Brent Robbins will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Mr. Richard loved his family and spending time with his children, especially if it meant he got to go on vacation. He always made sure everyone was well taken care of. His favorite pastime was playing golf. He was an adept basketball player at Mize High School and then later on at Jones County Junior College. He then attended Ole Miss where he graduated. He loved cheering on the Rebels, watching westerns, and Star Trek. He put God before everyone else and magnified it to his family, teaching them the principles of being a real Christian. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delmas Burch; mother, Troylene McDaniel Burch; brother, Mark Delmas Burch; grandchild, Chloe Denise Harrell.
Survivors include his son, Trevor Justin Burch; daughter, Jennifer Nicole Lovell (Chad); sister, Donna Burch; grandchild, Sammie Braiden Harrell; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
