Press Release from Simpson County Sheriff’s Office
On Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2019, at approximately 4:00 pm, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a missing 92-year old male that was fishing at a pond on Buddy Jones Road in Simpson County. Upon arrival Simpson County Deputies located the subject in the pond approximately 20 feet from the shore. At this time a Simpson County Deputy went into pond and rescued the subject, who was identified as Robert Devine. AMR Ambulance Service and Simpson County Sheriff’s Office started life saving measures. At this time, the subject was transport by AMR Ambulance to Simpson General Hospital, where he later was pronounced deceased.
