Mayor Dale Berry called the special called Board of Alderman meeting to order. All alderman as well as the Mayor and City Clerk Jon Styron were in attendance.
Brett Duncan of Charles Prince Account firm presented information on the CDBG grant that the city received for sewage issues. Details of the project, which requires an engineer, are incomplete at this time.
The Mayor explained each alderman needs to submit a “wish list” for projects which will be financed with APRP money.
Alderman Patrick Brown in conjunction with Alderman Lane Steele requested a letter sent to Buddy Wolverton desiring his services. The board was unanimous with this request.
The board requested an engagement letter sent to Angela Herzog or Herzog CPA Company, PLLC requesting an audit of the financial statements for the City of Magee, the government activities, the business-type activities, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information, including the related notes to the financial statements, which collectively comprise the basic financial statement of the City of Magee.
A motion was made to hire Amanda Seghini as Deputy Clerk. The vote was 5-0.
A motion was made to hire Shane Little as Magee Police Chief. The vote was 4-0 with Sue Honea abstaining.
The regular scheduled meeting of the Board of Alderman is Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the City Hall Court Room beginning at 6 PM.
