Over the past few days, the Magee Police Department has made several arrests related to impaired driving and other traffic offenses. The following individuals have been charged:

  • Chakerria Chashae Buckley – DUI (1st Offense), Possession of Paraphernalia, No Driver’s License, No Proof of Insurance.

  • Gary Lee Young – DUI (2nd Offense), Following Too Closely, No Proof of Insurance, Reckless Driving.

  • Lactavius Womack – DUI (1st Offense), No Driver’s License, No Seatbelt, No Insurance.

Additional arrests have been made; however, those details are being withheld at this time due to ongoing investigations.

An Important Reminder on DUI Charges
The Magee Police Department is seeing a rise in DUI-related arrests, particularly involving substances other than alcohol. Please be aware: Driving under the influence is not limited to alcohol.

If you operate a vehicle while impaired by marijuana, prescription medication, or any legal or illegal narcotics, you can and will be charged with DUI – Other.

We urge all drivers to make responsible choices. Your safety—and the safety of others—depends on it.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Chief Denis J. Borges
Magee Police Department

Chakerria Chashae Buckley
Gary Lee Young
Lactavius Womack
