Simpson County Board of Supervisors approved proof of publication for Simpson County Dog Ordinance and publication for Simpson county adopting dog ordinance effective October 3, 2022.

The Road Mangers report was submitted and approved by the board.

Sheriff Paul Mullins requested Justin Brown to be moved from part-time non-certified to full-time certified. The board approved request and approved the Jail Summit food invoice for October.

County Engineer Buddy Woolverton updated the board on all State Aide, LSBP, and county projects.

  • SAP-64(64)– Grade, drain, base and surface for Star to Braxton. 19.34% completions with 40.00%% Elapsed time. Contractor is completing clearing and grubbing operations.
  • LSBP-64(24)– Bridge Replacement Shorter Road – Issued notice to proceed.
  • SAP-64(65)– (Bridge Replacement) Dry Creek Road – Can proceed with right of way acquisition. Have mailed out utility agreements.
  • LSBP-64(25) – Bridge Replacement Peacock Road – Office review plans were mailed to Sate Aid on July 25, 2022. Starting environmental review process.
  • 2022 Simpson County Resurfacing Project – Roads 1A-5O – 57.08%% Completed and %% Elapsed time. Contractor has completed filed work and plans, started environmental reviews.
  • ERBR-64(03) (Bridge Replacement) Saratoga – Sharon Road – Completing field work and plans, started environmental review.
  • ERBR-64(04) – (Bridge Rehabilitation) Harrisville – Braxton Road – Completing field work and plans started environmental review.

The board approved the appointment of Wendall James as a special prosecutor in the case of the State of MS vs Dale Berry due to the recusal of County Prosecuting Attorney, Wesley Broadhead.

  • Thanksgiving Holiday – Thursday and Friday, November 24th and 25th, 2022.
  • Christmas Holidays – Friday and Monday, December 23 and 26, 2022.
