Mrs. Thomas was a member of New Bethel Church, and she loved her family very much. She was very fond of her five grandchildren as they were growing up, and excited when great-grandchildren came along. Anyone who knew her knew they were just the “apple of her eye”! she was affectionately known as “Mamaw Sue” and “Sue-Sue”. And her great-grand’s loved her too. She loved helping other people and enjoyed making quilts. Our mother was the hardest working woman everyone knew. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin A. Thomas; parents, Moses Earl Ragan and Hattie G. Rhodes Ragan; and five sisters, Nell Dupree, Joann Leach, Sylvia Ragan, Louise Fulgham, and Ruby Tyson.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Thomas McDaniel and husband, Don, of Forest; two sons, Wesley Thomas of Taylorsville and John Thomas and wife, Jackie, of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Lacy Brantley and husband, Kyle, Seth McDaniel and wife, Megan, Brittney Rowell and husband, Zach, Ragan Anderson and husband, Austin, and Micah Thomas and wife, Whitney; nine great-grandchildren, Kolby and Kameron Brantley, Jax McDaniel, Aiden Thomas, Lilly Anderson, and Ryleigh, Kyleigh, Addie, Bella Rowell; one sister, Helen Richburg; two brothers, Edwin “Cowboy” Ragan and John P.
