Rayford “Benny” Shiyou, 65, passed away suddenly on August 13, 2017, at his residence. He was born on September 8, 1951, to Orvis A. Shiyou and Lola (Sorey) Shiyou.
He retired from Brown Bottling Group and was also a local farmer and poultry-man.
Benny is survived by his wife, Maria (Rester) Shiyou Braxton, MS; son, Kane Shiyou Turnage (Sharon, Braxton MS), daughters, Karen French (Paul) Brandon, MS, Stacey Grover (Justin) Decatur, MS, Gela Herrin (Tony) Braxton, MS, Shena Layton (Chris) West Point MS; Ginger Pippen (David) Braxton, MS; grandchildren, Sharon Huffman (Chris), Tiana Hillman (Darin), Nic Grover, AJ (Bubba) Grover, Mark Herrin (Christa), Mason Herrin, Courtney Phillips (Chris) Lori Lister (Joshua), Kristen Layton, Scarlett Jacobs, Joe Jacobs, Nora Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Aiden (Peanut) Huffman, Presley Lister; siblings, Norman Holden, Waveland, MS, Delia DeLassus (Stan) Lafayette, LA, Al Shiyou (Beth) Collins, MS, Wanda Harvey (Wayne) Collins, MS; two nieces, two nephews and two great nieces. He also leaves behind his beloved church family, in-laws and extended family.
Visitation for friends will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Braxton, MS. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 16, at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Braxton Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
