Raven Elizabeth Ferguson of Monticello, Mississippi, graduated from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, MSMS, on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Raven is the 18-year-old daughter of Melvin and Kristi (Ferguson) Pittman of Monticello, Mississippi, and Etoya and Lakeisha Traxler of Magee, Mississippi. Grandparents are Navlean Pittman of Monticello, Mississippi, and Nancy Fairchild Bryant and Boston and Jean Traxler, all of Magee, Mississippi.

 
The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science is Mississippi’s only public residential high school for academically gifted students and is located in Columbus, Mississippi, on the campus of the Mississippi University for Women, MUW.
Raven attended Lawrence County High School prior to being accepted to MSMS. She is a National Merit Finalist, scored a 34 on the ACT, and has maintained all A’s. Along with her academic achievements, she has also been awarded for her outstanding performance in Latin and art.

 
Raven will be in the Honors Program while attending the University of Southern Mississippi, USM, in the fall on a full-ride scholarship where she will major in Marine Biology.
