On June 3, 2025, at approximately 1700 hours, Magee Police Department received multiple calls from concerned citizens reporting that a male subject was engaging in lewd behavior at the city park. Witnesses stated that the subject was observed touching himself inappropriately and appeared to be photographing elementary aged children. Parents at the park confronted the individual, after which he fled the area in a vehicle.
A description of the vehicle was provided, and the subject was located a short time later by Magee officers traveling on Hwy 28 East. The vehicle was stopped after being observed driving recklessly. The driver was identified as Randy Martin Riley.
Mr. Riley was detained at the scene, advised of his Miranda rights, and voluntarily admitted to taking photos of children and engaging in inappropriate conduct at the park, but never touched a child. He also consented to a search of his phone. A review of the phone revealed several images of minors; however, all individuals in the photos were clothed.
Mr. Riley was transported to the Magee Police Department for processing. He was subsequently booked and charged accordingly. Additional charges may be pending further investigation and forensic review of electronic evidence.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Magee will not be a playground for anyone with lustful intentions or desires toward minors. We will protect our children at all costs and take swift action against anyone who poses a threat to their safety or innocence.
Chief Denis J. Borges
Magee Police Department
