Randy Horan Honored by Supervisors during meeting

Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, July 5, 2022 for their regular scheduled bimonthly meeting. All members were present.

A Letter of Resolution of Appreciation for Randy Horan, retired road department area foreman, was read and presented. Horan’s family was presented.

Buddy Wolverton, County Engineer, reported the status of State-Aid & LSSBP as of June 30, 2022

Sheriff Paul Mullins presented the Summit invoices for the jail at a cost of $18,598.33 that was approved by the board. The board voted to approve the inmate charges for cities within the county $30 daily and $40 for out of county.

Jamie Brewer Tax Assessor presented the following reports to be recorded in the minutes.

A detailed discussion was held with the supply and demand of the chip rock needed for paving projects. The chip rock are hard to come by at present time and has delayed some planned paving projects.

The board is still discussing and researching a dog ordinance for the county.
