Randall May Heath, 73, of Mendenhall, MS passed from this life Saturday morning, September 24, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS from noon until 1:00 pm. A  memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Julian Davis officiating. First Baptist Church of Mendenhall will host a reception in the Family Life Center immediately following the service.
Randall is survived by her husband, Dr. Kingston Heath, Mendenhall; step-son, Wilder Heath (Catie and Granddaughter, Nora) of Edmonds, Washington; Brother, William Thomas May (Pat), Magee; brother Joseph (Rusty) May (Susan), Mendenhall; nephews, William Thomas May, Jr. (Laura), Magee; Steven May, Pensacola, Florida; Christopher Lancaster (Emily), Austin, Texas; nieces Madelyn May Trosclair (J.P.), Petal; Meagan Carroll May-Burke (Paul), Bentonia; Cathryn Finnegan (Roger), Florence, MS, along with several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carroll Thomas May; mother, Jean Pickering May and nieces, Deanna May Couch and Allison Lancaster.
A smile, a book, a flower, and a helping hand defined the essence of Randall May Heath. She was beautiful on the inside, as well as in her physical bearing. She was creative and enthusiastic about the very smallest joys of life.
Randall loved her family, dedicated her life to learning, and found joy in cultivating nature’s blessings. Her passing leaves an emptiness felt by all who knew and loved her.
Randall graduated with honors from Mendenhall High School; received her B.S. from Memphis State University; earned a MLS degree from the University of Illinois in Library Science, and did doctoral work at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She retired from UNCC as the Head of the Art and Architecture Library, where she met her husband, Kingston, a professor of Architecture.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mendenhall Public Library, where Randall first developed her love of reading.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall
