RAISING HANDS IN VICTORY

In the sport of boxing two men or two women enter the ring.  They fight whatever amount they are suppose to.  At the end of the fight or before some ones hands are raised as the winner.  There can also be a draw.

In our devotion today we will read about a man whos hands were held up by stones.  Our reading today comes from Exodus 17:12.  But Moses’ hands were heavy and they took a stone and put it under him and he sat there on it.   Aaron and Hur held up his hands one on one side and one on the other side and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Slow down…take time…and just listen

In your anger, do not sin

Verse11-  Tells us of a war going on between Israel and Amalek.  As long as Moses held up his hands Israel would win the battle but when his hands came down Amalek would win.  God used Moses’ hands in victory anther time.  It was when he was going to lead the children of Israel across the Red Sea; when Moses stretched our his hand the sea departed revealing dry land.  The children of Israel reached the other side.  The Egyptians (Pharaoh’s) army died because the two sides of water fell among them.

We as Christians can help people find victory by lifting our hands toward heaven and praying for them.  We must give time, strength, and commitment for them to win.  We must think of others not just our self.  We need each other to reach our goal which is a home in heaven.

Heaven is going to be a place where we will all join together and worship Jesus Christ King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  What a day that will be.  Father we thank you for our victory today.  Help us to continue to life our life up to you today, tomorrow, and always.  Have a blessed and victorious week.
