The R. A. Buckley Center, a division of Mendenhall Ministries, is open and ready to serve the public!
Rahim Lockhart, former basketball stand out, is following his heart to support the reopening of the Center.
Rahim visited with me on Monday, February 28, 2022 to update the happenings at the Center.
When Rahim arrived, I almost fainted! I knew a “Lockhart” guy was coming but had no idea it would be Rahim. Rahim played basketball at Ole Miss when Larkin (my middle son) played baseball at Ole Miss. The two lived in the Athletic Dorm together. Their friendship grew all the way from kindergarten to college!
Rahim spent many a day at the R. A. Buckley Center.
“I learned a lot of good basketball moves while at the Center,” stated Lockhart. “The center offered a place for us to mingle with older athletics and learn from some of the best.”
When Rahim returned to Mendenhall, he found the Center closed. He was aware of the difference the Center had made in his life. He wanted other youth in Simpson County to have the same experience.
The Center is open to young and old—girls or guys. Check out the video for more details.
If you are interested in joining or sending your child, contact Rahim at 662-816-7833. The address of the Center is 309 Center Street Mendenhall, MS 39114
