Modular buildings have been proposed for the new Magee Elementary School site. These buildings will only house third and fourth grade students for a period of time until regular classrooms can be built. The future growth for these classes is shown on the building plan. Also, the modular classrooms will have their own poured foundations with beams tying the modulars to the ground.
These photos were provided to MageeNews.com by the Simpson County School District Office, showing modular buildings at Oak Grove High School.
The school district policies of building a new school by using modular buildings with a concrete foundation will not work during a far less severe tornado. The school district needs to stop using their tit for tat strategy by saying we builds this for Magee we have to do something for Mendenhall. The school district never should have started the cafeteria at Mendenhall until Magee gets its new Elementary School campus built. The school district needs to prioritizes its needs and stop doing everything to make Mendenhall Schools simply because it is the county seat and it should be case by case basis.
