MAGEE, MS, – PriorityOne Capital Corporation and PrioirtyOne Bank are pleased to announce that Reverend E. Darnell Moffett was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for both organizations.

Reverend Moffett is a native of Taylorsville and he and his family reside in Magee. He has an extensive background in the corporate world serving BP Amoco Corporation on an international basis from 1982 to 1999.

In recent years Reverend Moffett has been very involved in pastoring local churches including Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Magee and Hopewell Baptist Church in Raleigh. Reverend Moffett has also been involved in local education through teaching positions with Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Simpson County Schools.

Reverend Moffett is a dedicated community volunteer and leader. In 2010 he was named Citizen of the Year by the Magee Chamber of Commerce. Other affiliations and leadership roles include volunteering with Simpson County Schools, serving as president of First Sweet Pilgrim District Association, BTU and Sunday School Congress, former president and current member of Simpson County Mississippi Scholars Steering Committee, former community liaison with the USDA Office of Rural Development, former board member of Magee Hospital HealthTrust Foundation and former vice-president of community development with the Simpson County Development Foundation.

Reverend Moffett holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physics from the University of Southern Mississippi. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Executive Management and Leadership programs at Rice University in Houston, TX, and The Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. Reverend Moffett has also earned an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies with the Gulf Coast Bible Institute and studied at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary and the Houston Graduate School of Theology.
“Darnell is a dedicated community volunteer and leader,” said Odean Busby, Chairman of PriorityOne Bank. “He is a highly qualified and very well respected citizen of Magee and Simpson County and we are very proud to have him join our board of directors.”

Reverend Moffett and his wife, Dr. Allison Moffett, have four children – Erick, Brandon, Danelle, and Micah.
