Kim Holbrook was diagnosed with Melanoma in April. She had surgery in May to remove an area on her leg as well as the lymph nodes in her abdomen.  Kim was readmitted on July 12th for what we thought was an infection.  The news Kim received Friday, July 15th, was not good.  The doctor found additional tumors.

Kim has been a hair dresser all her life!  …which means she’s been working on her feet…which she cannot do now…

Now That’s a Stump!

Now That’s a Stump!

Devastation is an understatement for what Kim and her family have been experiencing. Her son, Hayden, has been caring for Kim along with friends.  Her daughter, Holly, lives in Texas and comes as often as she can.  Kim’s father, Wayne Wallace, died last year.  Her mother, Kathryn Ann Wallace, is a resident of Hillcrest.  Scott Wallace is her brother and Leigh Wallace her sister.

Kim is scared…she is sad…she is worried.  Kim needs our prayers.  For a long time, Kim kept her situation private…but with this new development she has requested prayers from everyone.

I am one who can always say “what I would do”….but when you are actually looking death in the door…what does one do.  I believe that we are called to pray…I believe we are called to share (Kim has no insurance and no income)…I believe we are called to love.  God is love.  No matter the circumstances, God never leaves us…and His children carry the message of love to the world.

I will keep everyone updated.  There is a “Go Fund” page that has been created for Kim.  Donations are welcomed but prayers are needed.

My heart breaks for this family…Kim, you are loved.
