Special prayers are requested for Rick Venable who fell while working on a project at his church breaking his leg just under the knee and cracked his t12 vertebrae in his back. According to Rick’s son, Jeff, Rick will have 1 of 2 leg surgeries. The first will be to set and stabilize the leg with exterior rods which he will have for a couple of weeks until the swelling/trauma resides.  He will then come back to have some plates pins and maybe even rod placed in his leg. For his back they will put him in a brace and hopefully that will let it heal on his own. Rick is in UMMC where he is recuperating. Please remember Rick’s wife Katherine in your prayers.

Donald Fortenberry had almost his entire ear removed due to melanoma. Reconstruction of the ear will take place in about 3 weeks. The surgery was performed in Huston and he will be returning for the follow up surgery. Donald is a former city clerk of Magee. The entire family needs our prayers.

Ruby Rankin will be taking a chemo pill rather than radiation following her cancer surgery.
