Prayer Time 2

The world that we live in today is far different from the one that I knew as a child and as a young adult. There is so much more of everything!   There is more money, more things, more leisure, more selfishness, more hatred, more power, and more ambition. But there is also much less of the important things – less love, less caring, less kindness, less commitment, and much less integrity. We have moved away from dependence upon God and pride ourselves upon being self-sufficient. In doing this, we have lost a precious peace that cannot be found in worldly things. We need to pray for real joy and real peace. It is not something we can purchase; it is not something that we cannot acquire by hard work. It is a gift!! Pray for God’s blessings of peace and joy in those lives that experiencing turmoil and hurt. As the Casting Crown’s song says “Leave it all behind, and Come to the Well”.

From Rick Warren’s Daily devotion:

Role models can be positive or negative.

Don’t put a lot of concern into what others think of you.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13, NLT) Who doesn’t need more hope or joy or peace in their lives? Pray, “God, I know somebody who needs some hope. Help them to trust in you during this difficult time.”
