Representatives from Polk’s Meat met before the Board of Supervisors Friday, January 15, 2016, and the Magee Board of Alderman Tuesday, January 19, 2016 asking for a Resolution of Intent on a tax exempt.
Polk’s Meat has been located in Simpson County for 15 years and employees around 100 employees.
Polk’s is undergoing a 3.4 Million dollar renovation to their refrigerator unit and equipment. A new chill tower has been replaced.
Polk’s is asking for a 10-year tax-free exemption on the 3.4 million dollar renovations. Both the Board of Supervisors and the Board of Alderman approved this consideration.
