Police Chief Shane Little appeared before the Magee Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, requesting a new pay scale for the city’s police officers.

“I believe I can fund a new pay scale for officers,” said Little, “effective immediately.”

Little explained to the board the problem of officer retention and recommended a scale that allows officers to be eligible for a higher ranking every three years but is contingent upon continuing education requirements and regular evaluations.
