The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Proverbs 16:24: “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Are we mindful of our words before we speak them? Do we consider the pain or joy they can inflict? We should. The power of words fitly spoken can be like a healing balm to the hearer or the jagged blade of a knife. Let us always temper what we say with love and consider first how those very words would be taken were they directed at us. Sobering thought, isn’t it? Yes! Amen!
