Philip Alexander Hopkins, 86 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born Sunday, August 21, 1938 in Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Tim Parker and Bro. George Owens will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

He was preceded in death by his son, Blane  Hopkins;  parents, Harvey  Hopkins and Irene  Darnell  Hopkins;  sisters, Sue Shearer and Deanie McDaniel.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine  Sullivan Hopkins of Mendenhall, MS;  daughters, Sheila  Shows  (Dewey) of Mendenhall and Crystal  Brewer  (Jason) of Mendenhall; grandchildren, Jeremy  Cox, Jacob  Cox  (Cameron ), Honey  Beth  Mashburn  (Lee), Cullen  Shows  (Mallory), Lexi  Shows, Gracie  Brewer, Kinsey  Brewer and Eli Brewer;  brothers, JE  Hopkins and Laney  Hopkins  (Annette);  sisters, Joan  Raley, Sheryl  Abernathy  (Johnny), Nelda  Rabb  (Raymond ), Candy  Owens  (George ) and Pam  Norwood  (David);  great grandchildren, Blane Mashburn and Blair  Mashburn;  and a host of nieces  and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cox, Jacob Cox, Cullen Shows, Eli Brewer, Alex Hopkins, and Josh Lamon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blane Mashburn.
