The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 John 3:1: “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.” What a grand proclamation of God’s ownership of His children! The apostle knew that Christians were and are a peculiar people. Jesus Himself said as much. The world did not understand or accept Christ; neither will or does the world accept us, His children. Still, we are urged to persevere, stand firm against the wiles of the devil, resist evil, and keep our eyes focused on Jesus while remembering that it was He, Who gave His life so that we might be called “the Sons and Daughters of God.” Amen!
